Aargh-1st Edition (Limited #1) of my STANABACK SPECIAL!! #31
I contracted with Gary & Bo Randall to forge 100 blades for this project, back in the mid 1980's. At that time, to me anyway, I thought that I would have to take 10 years to sell them all! As it was, about 3 1/2-4 years and (probably) 5 years to 'actually' get them all made and delivered! Of course, I only got 20% of the knives that I do currently from the shop every month.
The knives were not serial numbered in ascending order, i.e.: Anyone, requesting a special serial number (if it was still available) could receive that #, with deliveries taking about 3-4 months! (Those were the days...Huh?). Issue price was $325.00 in 1986. The serial numbers were located right next to the blade stamp on my LTD. I. For my LTD. II (which followed 10 years later) the serial number was etched on the opposite side of the blade (There were 200 of the LTD. II's).
I'll list the specs below. You don't see these guys come up for sale very often. I've had this in The Captain's STASH and am letting it go because I still have Serial #1! Thanks for putting up with all of this historical nonsense and trips down memory lane folks. I appreciate it!
